As part of these changes, owners are required to register their pool and spa with their local council and have their safety barrier inspected once every four years. If a Victorian residential pool or spa has a depth of 30cm or more (300mm), it is required to be surrounded by a safety barrier. This rule also applies to inflatable pools.
